Barbara Rhymaun

Barbara Rhymaun - Consultant Head Teacher

Barbara was Executive Head Teacher of Darrick Wood School for 15 years until her retirement in 2015.

Darrick Wood is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school which is highly regarded within the local community and beyond. It has a roll of 1730 boys and girls (420 in the Sixth Form). Examination results are excellent both at GCSE and Advanced Level and in the last OFSTED inspection the School was graded as ‘outstanding’ in every category. Darrick Wood is also designated a National Support School and a Teaching School.

Barbara has supported schools in the London area and beyond for over 18 years. She has worked as an LLE (Local Leader of Education) and an NLE (National Leader of Education). Her work as an NLE involves assisting leadership teams and other staff to implement school improvement strategies in order to raise standards. She has also mentored several headteachers new to the role of headship giving support and guidance. Barbara was also a Senior Partner for the organisation known as Challenge Partners.

She is currently involved in education through the London Strategy as an NLE giving school-to-school support, is a Consultant Head Teacher for Darrick Wood Teaching School, a PiXL Leader (Partners in Excellence) working with several schools and is a member of the PiXL Board.
